Tis the Season

Brrrr! My first Winter in Portland...well, officially Winter in a few days. It certainly is cold, 28 degrees when I took my morning walk. Right now, at 1:20pm, it is 38 degrees. Actually, I'm getting accustomed to it, it's all how you dress.

Despite the cool weather, I'm just not feeling the Christmas "spirit". Holiday music seems to make me feel melancholy more than anything else. The lights around downtown are nice, no pressure there...unlike the TV commercials.

Now is the time to prepare resolutions for the New Year. There have been a few rattling around in my noggin for a while. I just want to put some thought into how I'm gonna stick to these resolutions...a plan for success if you will. In general, I intend to take better care of myself. More exercise and a better diet (which may be meat-free, not sure yet). Also, I'll probably start the New Year off with a Master-Cleanse...haven't done that since last March or so.

The move to Portland, plus the pre-planning and adjustment to, have thrown me off-course from my old exercise and eating habits. Getting back on track will be tough at first but I'm motivated. The extra pounds are wearing me down, so off they go!

Next Saturday, I'll be flying back to San Diego to visit my folks. Gotta be on the MAX around 4:30am so I can get checked in for a 6:30am flight. Going First Class this time...was only $12 more, so what the hell. Flying back on Christmas evening, not the way I wanted to do it but the only flights I could get on Boxing Day involved flying with one or two stops...6 hours to get home!
