T-minus 36 hours

Phew! I'm almost finished with the packing, just a few bits to wrap and box in the kitchen. Now I remember why I stayed at my house for so many years....I don't enjoy packing. Unpacking isn't so bad, everything gets put away in a somewhat organized manner.

My plan is to have the truck loaded and on the road by noon-ish on Saturday, with the intention of making it to Buttonwillow before sundown. Completely do-able even with a couple short stops on the way. Initially I was going to make the drive to Portland in two days, but there's really no reason to burn myself out...a nice leisurely drive sounds much better.

I've broken the trip into 4 segments. Day one and day three are nearly the same length, 270 miles. Day two will be a total of 570 miles but broken into 2 segments, Sacramento will be my lunch stop on the way to Medford Oregon. The last segment should be very nice and scenic.
