It's just a freaking concrete cross fer christsake!

Well, I can honestly say there is ONE GOOD THING that George W Bush did during his presidency. Today, he signed a bill which transfers the land under San Diego's Mount Soledad cross to the federal government.

For years and years now, there has been near constant controversy and court battles surrounding this concrete and and brick memorial cross. A San Diego atheist sued to get this war memorial removed from city land. Recently, a superior court judge ruled that the city must remove it or face fines of $5000 per day until it is removed. George Bush was the only person who could prevent the cross from being moved.

Why do I care, you ask? Well, I'm not religious...agnostic is probably accurate. But seeing a cross certainly doesn't offend me, especially a cross at a war memorial. C'mon people, let's put our energy towards something important...helping the poor and homeless, the Big Brother/Big Sister organization or anyone of hundreds of groups that make America a better place!

I'm certain this battle is not over, the atheist group will probably sue the federal gov't (further slowing down the court system).
