It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

Today was interesting. Until 4:45pm, it was a normal crappy day (sorry, but my work day never changes...I feel like a cookie-cutter at work). But, once I got off the bus at Glisan and 21st, my day changed.
Trader Joe's wasn't overly crowded, in fact it was quiet. Then, as I'm checking out, the cashier says "Hey, you're the Charger-guy, aren't you?". I've talked to this cashier twice since moving to PDX...he saw my Charger hat the first time and then I mentioned the Chargers on another visit. This may be seem very unimportant, but I've felt very anonymous since moving to PDX - almost invisible at times. It's nice to be acknowledged, hell, it's nice to be remembered. I miss that...you know, walking into a store or a tavern and people say "Hey, how ya' doing?" or "Where have you been?". Anyway, yeah...a nice surprise.
Then, as I'm walking toward my building's entry, my buddy "the lil' black kitty" appears from under the gate. He / She seemed very fit and vocal as ever. I thought the cat was "catnapped" or dead (hoping for catnapped). Was good to see Kitty again, alive and well. Someone's taking good care of Kitty and that makes me happy AND I'm glad he/she remembers me.
Finally, I found a promising job while checking the postings on Craigslist. Not sure where this will go, but at least I've made an impression with the HR person and the owner about 6 months ago. I've never been a fan of changing jobs but when the shoes don't fit it's time to find a new pair.
