a balmy 48 degrees
after 8+ days of snow and freezing temperatures, I finally drove my truck today. The snow and cold began over 2 weeks ago, but I was able to drive during the light snow. However, as the temperatures hovered in the low twenties, the black ice kept me from driving...thank god for remote network access.
Sure, the snow was fun, at first. But after nearly 12" accumulated, I began to get stir-crazy. My truck is 2WD and chains didn't seem to help most other drivers so I just walked to the grocery store or McMenamins. Playing in the snow would have been an option if I didn't have a gnarly cold.
Yesterday was the first day without snow or sub-freezing temperatures and today, to celebrate the fact, I went grocery shopping in shorts. Compared to the recent 20 degree temps, today was a much welcomed change.
